SOUNDTRACK DESCRIPTION
Short Film Scores 1 consists of 12 different short film scores composed by Douglas Edward, including
the 2008 award-winning title for Best Film Score, "Truth be Told" from the film Out of the Shadow,
and the 2008 award-nominated title for Best Film Score, "Flesh and Wire" from the film The Scientist.

This compilation includes scores that feature talented performances by (in track listing order) :
Scott Miles (Tabla and Djembe on "Desperate Journey")
Jeanene Johnson (Clarinet on "Truth be Told")
Kris Swenson (Vocals on "Flesh and Wire")
Megan Harris (French Horn on "Mutant Theme")
Douglas Edward (all other instruments and sequencing).

The scores were recorded in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008.

Departure was a film shot in Dallas and directed by Steven Lee in 2006. This track is a compilation
of cues from the film. The score consists of Piano, Acoustic Guitar, Strings (Violins and Violas),
Distorted Percussion, Male Choir, and features Tabla and Djembe performances by Scott Miles.

02 "Truth be Told" (from Out of the Shadow) Duration: 7:29
Out of the Shadow was a film shot in Florida and directed by Andrew Bartels in 2007.
This track won the Columbine Award for Best Film Score from the 2008 Moondance International Film Festival.
The score consists of Piano, Strings (Violins, Violas, and Cellos), Electronic Pads, Rope Noise
(the sound of rubbing rope), and features a solo Clarinet performance by Jeanene Johnson.
This track is a compilation of cues from the film.

03 "Flesh and Wire" (from The Scientist) Duration: 11:15
The Scientist was a film shot in Kansas and directed by David Matheny in 2007.
This track was a finalist for Best Film Score from the 2008 Moondance International Film Festival.
The score consists of Odd Percussion, Electronic Pads, Electronic Percussion, Strings (Violins and Violas), and
features Female Vocal and Rhythm performances by Kris Swenson. This track is a compilation of cues from the film.

Date.CON was a film shot in Dallas and directed by Gregory Mansur in 2006. The score consists of a number of
songs and background music. This track is a compilation of cues from the film and features Piano,

The Last Turn was a film shot in Dallas and directed by Robert J. Castaldo in 2008. This track is a compilation
